Southord are easily affordable, but I have found that ones I have left alot to be desired. They were the 1st I got so at the time I did'nt know any better. My main complaint is the fact they do not have any kind of handle. It can be uncomfortable to work with.

They have riveted stainless handles but they are thin, personally i like them and use them daily,

But it is a individual preferance, as you see some like some picks and other prefer differant ones,

The better picks for a good balence of cheap verses quality are in fact the south ords,

You can get blemished ones that are even cheaper or use the site sponcer and with the coupon code of lp101 you will get 10% off non sale items,

Mine don't have the riveted handles, just one piece of stamped metal from end to end. I should point out that I was not implying they were not good picks, because they are.

Southord offers a several different type of picks, plain, no handles, picks with revitless handles, and a Euro line of picks which are slim and fit well into small keyways.
I personally like the thin Euro style picks, but you probably need to start out with normal picks, the thin picks will bend much easier. Once you learn how much pressure to use, then the thin picks are great.

The best picks for my money have always been HPC, but then again I'm kinda old school and have this thing about spring steel. There are a lot of reasons to prefer stainless, but I still keep going back to the spring steel for some reason.

For your money though, SouthOrd and Southern Specialities are excellent choices. After that you saves your money and try other brands. If you can find the rubber handled Ilco picks, they are pretty good and relatively inexpensive as well.
