Bench Grinder

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I'm not really sure if this is the right forum to post this in so if its not the right one, please move it. Anyways I've been making quite alot of picks recently and there seems to be a build up of the steel filings caught inside the wheel (the inner body underneath where the actual wheel is). It appears to be a sludge-like consistency. I was just wondering if this is something I should be concerned about, and if so, how should I handle it?

just dump out any filings. not something to worry about, unless they are being thrown by the grinder.

Nothing to worry about, once it gets big enough to be touching the wheel turn off and unplug the machine and then scrape the gunk out with a screwdriver or such like,

You may get away with that or you may have to take the wheel covers off and get at it that way but even if it touches the wheel al it does is stop it getting any higher, its only fileings and if any hits the wheel like falling off for example it just instantly breaks back to the dust it once was,

Dont worry but keep your grinder clean as much as possable, when things build up clean them out,
