with stuff around the house
depends what your house is like really. Mine was a gold mine for making picks even before i started lockpicking. There was unused hacksaw blades in the shed, stainless steel sheets lying around, heatshrink, and just about anything else you could think of. Not to mention lots of power tools
But the important question is do you have a grinder? these allow you to quickly make picks. Hacksaw blaes are brilliant for the price, but if you are creative enough its no problem to find usable items that should suffice. metal inserts from wiper blades are good, espcialy for tension wrenches.
If you dont have a grinder then maybe file and bend some safety pins as picks and small screwdriver as wrench. Thats how i started out till i decided i was going to invest some time and make a few decent picks. Try to stay away from paperclips they bend way to easy.Coathangers may be too thick and flexible for picks but watever works for you i guess. you will need to file them though.
But really you are better of to buy a set from Southord or werever you want. A cheap set will keep you going for a long time.
