dont clamp the body of your padlock in the vice, clamp only the shackle in the vise, you may need to put leather of cardboard wraps on the shackle to get a secure grip but you can crank that vise down as hard as you want on that shackle and nothing will be damaged, if you do it so that the keyway is vertical, the lock body will rest on the top of the vise, if you must have it horizontal, you will need some wooden shims to widen and help keep the shackle from moving. be sure to center the shacle in the jaw.
if you have a vise with a rotating head, use the first method.
when you pick the lock the shackle will not pop out, the lock will.

you have misunderstood the turn fifteen degrees, this will not happen until you have picked the cylinder control function, when it does happen, pull straight out on the wedged in control tensor, and the cylinder will come out of the body of the lock.

some best locks will easily pick to the control function, when you have removed one cylinder, you will know what you need to know to recognize when this happens, other best locks will prefer to pick to the open function, this may change depending on the pick used, but if you have several of these locks you will find that they are different in how they respond, this could be age, wear, pin/bitting, dirt/lube or even the finish of the internal machining, even best has manufactureing tool bits wear before they change them. eh?

Yeah, the first time I picked my SFIC at the control shearline with a normal tensioner I thought the wrench just slipped in the keyway when it rotated only a few degrees. Didn't realize it until I turned the wrench the other way and heard the pins clicking back into place.

Im goin home and Im gonna make a six pin comb pick for best control function, pick to the open function then rotate 180 degrees then put this modified fincher in there that has a comb to lift the open function shearline to the control function shear, would have standard finch wrench depth on the first three, and long comb on the last three,
What do you guys think? will it blow the last three collumns out the top, or will the shell hold them in.

If you "hammer" in the comb pick with a small wedge you just might be able to push the caps out. I have a IC pinning/ejecting block and it doesn't take too much force at all to pop the caps along with the pin stacks out of the core.

The SFIC would be in a casing of some kind if it was in use. so that would do you no good.
