I hear ya on the needle files. I was very happy when I purchased my set. They come in handy when you need precision. The dremel is good, but for intricate work, the files are where its at.

BTW, do you know where to get a #6 Rattail like Raimundo's?

Thank you for your kinds words guys.

Here is the final set before I go on vacation. I have gotten quite a few PM's regarding sets and what not. I don't have the compacity to whipe them out, well i could but then they would suck :lol:

Anyway, my idea is this, I will create set's when I can, and post them in the B/S/T area.

Individuals or two are not a biggie but sets can take weeks.

So this is the first, Minus a double sided pick I made for medeco's, Iw ill put that in the advanced area.

Yup, best 7$ i ever invested, used it for drywall work, swaping baldes took a few seconds.

How much $ per pick?

Pick price depends on finish handel, lock apt.

I'm guessing you got this from the bogota how2 guide with the actual pics next to the yellow paper? It says 6th cut on it.......I think maybe this is just talking about the 6th file cut that was made in the process of making the pick. Although there is a file with a metal handle in the 2nd to last pic that looks very very fine ............so I could be very very wrong.

the metal handle file is a 6th cut, the rattail is only a fourth cut. I got the metal handle pick from a friend and know nothing of its provenance, the fourth cut rattail, I got at a local jewelers supply when they were having a sale of out of stock items etc. so as for getting one, I would suggest a jewelers supply house, the one I remember is "Rio Grande, Albuqueque"

they have several catalogs, some for tools others for gems and findings. get the one for tools. or perhaps you could contact Grobet in switzerland and see where they suggest you order from.

quater inch spring steel, after bonding, you shape the handels to your liking. Make sure that when bonding each side is even at the ends bacuse you cannot go back and reshape them.

No prob mate, good luck wit your picks, just rember to finish them with 1600 grit emory paper with silicon lube, you will get the mirror finish.
