Titanium as stock for picks and wrenches

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I've had a set of Ti tent pegs for years. Great stuff, tough as nails, never bent, light as a soap bubble. However, they are round stock and I don't see any advantage to using them rather than flat Ti scrap. They were not cheap when I bought them; however I've not priced what a similar set would run these days.
It's a good day when I learn something new.

HI I have seen some priced not too long ago at about a couple of quid a piece. I am not sure though if they were bent into a peg or an extrusion but i will be sure to check. This maybe an interesting way to go.
I also on a slightly different note found some cheap hacksaw blades to try out and found my tin of silicone rubber looks like over the next few weeks when not doing theoretical maths (my new job) and writing guides for entry techniques I will be experimenting with the "crazy concept" and various materials for making picks. Not only that I have to document how to make a practice lock for the guide and find someone to write a mushroom spool guide with some pics as some one has taken my mushroom spooled practics locks so I cant show how they will work.
So Busy, busy, busy.
IF anyone wants to beat me to it and post there findings though it would be much appreciated as at the moment time is a precious commodity for me.
Oh and to top it off I have to change a ancient warded lokc on how house to a mortice lock so yeah.
Will post as soon as I have anything to post,

I have made a few picks from those round Ti tent pegs, and they were fantastic. They worked just as well as the best steel ones I've made, and were not any more difficult to make by hand.

I just ordered some V shaped Ti tent pegs online.

They are 6.5 inches long and cost about $20 for 6 of them.

As soon as I get them I will let everyone know what they are like to work with.
