For all of you with a Bogota handy...

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Im drawing up a template. It's still in it's draft stages, though I could use some help. I need you to take your eyeball and/or Bogota rake, and compare it against my drawing here. I was drawing off an image I saw, and a rather crappy one at that, so it's probably not perfect.

Does this look about right?

Both look reasonable, I don't use templates when I make the picks, the quarter inch chain saw file determines the dimension of the round valleys, and the width of the sweeper bristle stock will determine the height of the peak, I try to place the round valleys with the file so that there is just the small bit of natural edge of the bristle between each valley. And the undercuts are an attempt to keep a lot of the pick tip in a width near the same as the shaft as it tapers to the tip. The reason for this is that it will allow the pick to bend and spring back rather than take a bend and set or eventually crack from stress building on a weak spot. If the weak spot is long, it will bend and spring back, rather than take a set.

Here's an accurate template based on the picks I got from Raimundo. If you just print it out it should be the proper size.
