Tool kit

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Tool kit

So I'm sure there is some one or a few people that have this up but I figured id ask. What is in your tool kit? If you don't mind me asking. Not just comercial but home made gear. Also what kinda locks do you use as practice.

All my stuff is well-sanded hacksaw. pix can be found here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=43125.
they have yellow/black heat shrink handles, or plexiglass handles, and were made in in several sets arranged by length of handle and pick. Ive found that the long skinny ones work the best.

Toughs look rely great, i have been waiting all week for my first set of actual picks to come in from Southord. If i had a bench grinder i would make some for hacksaw blades but sadly i don't.

I carry several things AT ALL TIME. First of is my Southord C2010, to compliment that set I recently got one of those 9 hook advanced sets from DX (www.dealextreme.com). They are REALLY thin an have a nice variaty of flat hooks which gives me good acces to even the smallest keyways. Southord picks can a bit big for smaller keysways and the DX hook set solves that problem for me!

When I am not sure what I will be facing I take my Eagle manual pickgun, it works well and cost virtualy nothing. Great to have.

And if I'm really clueless I take my KLOM Navigator set to, just because It has some nice dimple rakes and automotive picks.

So: Basic set

Well, the KLOM set which has about evrything you could ever ask for (plus allot you'de never ask for) and the eagle pickgun cost 55 bucks XD (32,50 for the KLOM and 24,99 for the EAGLE Pickgun).

Open 1 lock for 50 bucks with your pickgun for a customer and you got your equipment cost back ;)

I will admit that I carry quite a bit of stuff which I don't all use or need, but it just feels good to have several options to tackle a problem ;)

i keep my carry kit minimalistic,as with most aspects of this hobby...
my kit contains: majestic short hook, majestic 1/2 diamond (small) , a long hook filed down to 3/4ths of its original height,
and an array of tension tools,(mostly T.O.K.)
all this fits nicely,along with a couple 6-pin â„¢Schlage cylinders with receipts,into a nintendo DSâ„¢ case.
(ever since my tools were taken, and returned to me with apologies,i figure it is good practice,as most people automatically assume the worst when they discover my hobby..)
an attitude i wish ,as a community,we could eliminate...
( also i choose Majestic because they work well, and if/when they get lost/stolen/misplaced they are inexpensive to replace.)
