Coat Hanger Tension Wrench

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Coat Hanger Tension Wrench

What I found to work great for a supplemental tension wrench is a coat hanger that has been wrapped around a threaded bolt a couple of times. The wrapping around creates a few loops/circles in the wrench and thus allows it to become more "springy" thus allowing the user to require less tension. I also found out coat hangers and a bolt are not hard to come by and require less than a dollar of materials and less than 1 minute of your time..

Yeah, I'd like to see a pic aswell. The way I see it, you'd need to hammer the metal flat to use it as a tensioner. Depending on the hanger, you'd need to file all that nasty coating off first to stop it rubbing off in the lock aswell... definately not my first choice of in-a-pinch tensioner, but as a project it sounds prety neat. I love bar style tensioners, you get amazing feedback from them.

Will work on it. Perhaps a video. I have no idea of how to post pictures or videos on here yet, any feedback on that would be great.

You can upload pics to a hosting site such as photobucket, or attach your file through the forum software. When making a new post, scroll down a little and under the text box you'll see the option to attach files. :)
