Custom Combo Half Diamond (Deforest/Non) with wood handles

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Custom Combo Half Diamond (Deforest/Non) with wood handles

Postby ChonkyTonks » 1 Nov 2010 14:39

Hey All,

Over the weekend I tried my hand at making custom handles for a couple of the combo half diamond picks I made. The first was with maple (the lower pick in the picture), which I feel was not bad, but really not great, either. The second handle is cherry (top in the picture) and that was a far better experience. I have some ideas as to how I want to mod the cherry handle, but will wait for the sawdust to settle, first. Let me know what you think.

very much approved...i'm still stuck with polymer clay, which is substantial, but wooden handles sound much more comfortable and designer friendly. keep it up :)

Thanks, guys. I will be making another pick this evening and then work on another cherry handle tomorrow. I will be sure to post pics of that, as well.
