Improve Bogota?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Improve Bogota?

Postby shroombox » 28 May 2011 22:33

If the following could be figured out, could the Bogota type picks be improved?

The average distance between pins
The max and minimum travel needed of pins to reach the shear line
The max (or average?) pin diameter

With all the knowledge on this forum, it seems this information could be gathered relatively easily.
I am thinking this could be used to come up with real measurements of the peaks and valleys of the pick, perhaps improving the function.

well the average distance between pins was used to make bogotas...
and pin diameter is irrelivant... the picks need to fit in the keyway regardless of the pin diameter, the thinner theya re the more different depths you can get by angeling you pick...

it seems your reinventing the wheel
