Pardon any image issues I am kind of doing something to legally bypass the block so I can't see the images on the screen on a large monitor, or how they appear to the viewer. The biggest issue with beginners is the urge to have every pick in existence, and I blame this on collectors of all sorts. I think humanity is built around collecting things, especially shiny interesting things. I actually bought this after getting my good picks just for the dimple rakes to see if they would function with my dimple lock. Besides what does it hurt to get a 32 pick set that is well under a 100$ (not including tension tools). First when it arrived the box was missing the critical pin that allows the hinge to function properly, hence the box being in two separate pieces. I will give Klom this while the box is big it’s probably one of the more organized setups. The grips are rubber which isn't my taste but makes for a pretty comfortable pick even if you lose some feeling, and the metal is coated to be very smooth.
The downside? The metal is of crap quality, and the wiper blade metal AtticRR sent is far better, and overall stronger than anything in the klom box. The tension tools were a mixed bag and while it had some flats, many tended to look like modified double ended screwdriver then actual tension tools. The flats weren't bad and probably could do with some modification to be useful, but still not that great. Lastly several picks came just plain old bent. This wasn't shipping bent, this was production bent meaning the CQ for this product was basically nonexistent. Add to that some of the more odd double tooled picks were sandwiched into the handle as if they were tossed in a still hot plastic mold, and left to cool in front of a 3 year old.
Not that I wouldn’t recommend any other brands 5 pic set for a novice, but for those wishing to have all the tools in the world you would be better off picking up metal from a carwreck and making your own. Not worth the money of the god awful shipping from HK to Afghanistan.
