Majestic Lock Picks

I was considering purchasing the 13 piece set of Majestic lock picks and was wondering if the high strength form rubber pick grip sleeves that are available on Bumpmylock.com would fit over the picks, because they're riveted and all. My guess is that they'd feel nicer on the hands, but I really have no idea since I'm used to plain metal handles.

I don't think they would fit. I think they are meant for picks like the southords with no handle. I'm am pretty sure they would not fit over the thicker riveted handles that the majestic sets come with. Also you will get more feedback with the riveted handles than you will with the rubber handles.

Why don't you take a bic stic pen, with a round but tough plastic tube and remove all the inner pieces and the end cap and just wrap it in some cloth to preserve the outer finish and just crush it flat in a vise through the entire length then release it from the crusher and see if that does not slip right over the the popsicle handle and spring open just enough to tighten it.

Then get back to us and tell us if it works.

I really think is worth a try, I sorta remember doing this once but couldn't say what brand of tool is was done to.

I agree with youngpicker99 -- the feedback with the metal handles is great and you should find them quite usable as-is -- unless you prefer a bulkier handle.

FYI, my first picks were Majestics... with the caveat that these were purchased over 10 years ago, my experience is that the steel is quite brittle... investing in Peterson, Southord, or HPC is probably advisable. Peterson's plastic handles provide nice feedback, too, and my experience is that their Government Steel is a good bit more durable than Majestic. At least for me
