When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Hpc have a tool that is designed to hold back a dust cover on auto locks. looks like a tension tool with a cutout to the right width of the dustcovers keyway hole. i wonder if a tension tool with a similar cutout to miss the shroud would work for you. Of course it would introduce a weak point in the tool, if you're over tensioning.
