Broken Pick ..

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Broken Pick ..

Postby mseifert » 20 Jun 2014 16:15

Today I broke the first pick I ever made .. It has been my primary pick since I started picking (It did have shrink wrap on the handle) .. So I when about making 2 more out of a hardsaw blade...

Dispite the way it looks in the picture it is a short and medium hook.

When I finally leave this world.. Will someone please tell my wife what I have REALLY spent on locks ...

Eulogy in the pick graveyard at 9. It's always sad to see a loved pick go.
If it works, it ain't wrong! -GWiens2001

It was a good pick. It lived a long life, and could always be counted on to do the job. And do it well. While we will miss it, we must keep in mind that...

Oops! Not 9 yet.

Anyway, looking forward to seein what you make as a replacement.

Just when you finally think you have learned it all, that is when you learn that you don't know anything yet.

Despite the way it looks in the picture it is a short and medium hook.

I really like that handle design! Is that standard para-cord? If not, could I trouble you to ask what size the cord is, etc?

Did it bug you, much, losing your first pick? I get attached to some of my picks and would be devastated if one of my favorites broke!
(Of course, I don't tell the other picks "I have favorites!")

I have to admit I was a little sad when the pick broken .. But in the picks defense I was trying to bend the tip back into position with a pair of plyers..

Yes the Paracord is a standard paracord.. actually I kind of like it .. Is provides a little cushion ... makes the handle larger (I have big hands) .. I just need to get used to the new pick now.
