Custom Hook Waxed Wood Grip

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Custom Hook Waxed Wood Grip

Postby C-Horse » 10 Aug 2014 13:23

So I wanted a short and thin hook for those tight keyways. What's the best way to get the pick you want? Manufacture one! So this is what I came up with and my own design waxed wood grip, it feels great in the hand and it is a very dense light wood and finished off with some wax for an amazing feel in the hand that also offers outstanding feedback.

I think that I need to get off my ass and start making my own picks! :D

Well for me I used to be a block mason. But thanks to a mortar in Bagram I can no longer lay block. This is my construction outlet I guess, the dreams I have of being back on a scaffold laying block really tick me off.!

Well, it's a long way from laying block on a scafold, but it looks like you can still get the job done.

Great looking pick!!!

Makes me want to try my hand at it too. I think that if I ever did make a pick like that that I would put a small scallop on the back side lower corner for my middle finger.

What kind of metal did you use?
