Name this rake

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

We've always called them a "double rake". However, I've heard people call them a "flying bird pick." Neither terms are likely to be found in an encyclopedia, though.

I have always seen that design referred to as a "Batarang" but apparently SouthOrd calls it an "S-Rake" for their own reasons but, Peggy seems as good a name as any for your rake.

In case you are interested Deviant Ollam has a very useful slide deck called "Distinguishing Picks" which shows many common and uncommon tool designs along with names and some commentary on usability at http://deviating.net/lockpicking/slides.html, he also covers this in the appendix of the Second Edition of his book "Practical Lock Picking".

everything I have seen calls it batarang or batwing cause that is kinda what it looks like. I have not have much luck with them like others show to have. It always gets kinda hung up in the lock but I have not broke one yet.

Problem. I often use this pick, and don't have a name for it. I would call it a S-Rake/Hook, but it is similar enough to Peggy that I'd feel bad giving it such an impersonal name. I have no idea what to do!

Could call it Peggy Sue, or Buddy Holly. :)
