Like the handles. Think I would end up dipping those handles in lacquer and letting them dry to keep them with good gripability and improve feedback while reducing the chances of them unwinding. Quite nice work!

That's not a bad idea. I haven't tried anything like that because when you pull empty paracord tight, it gets quite hard. In addition, I melt the ends so it basically glues to its self. Nothing soft or loose about it :)

Or you can try putting the rods in bamboo and then injecting them with some kind of strong glue like solution that will keep them in place. I've seen it done on here and it looks good and crafty. Also, they look like great picks.
