whats best for beginners

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

im interested in buying a lock pick set.........but i dont kno a lot about them what would be good to start with and how much would it be?

Get a 14 pc set from southord, shouldnt be too much, and read MIT giude.
The best lock pick is C4 followed by a sledge Hammer

if you're a beginner, make them yourself. you'll break the first ones anyway

yea i was thinking what to make them from and i read on here a hacksaw blade and i have some.......do i grind them with a grinder? what could i use to shape them?[/quote]

That's not necessarily true. If your ignorant it can be, but if you actually study (by that i mean reading MIT guide and learning the art of picking) then they probably won't break. I still have my very first set, i bought it over 4 years ago and they still work relatively good (there's a bit of wear on the rake, but hey it's 4 years old :? )

:D I asked the eight ball - "will I become rich and famous?". the first result was an excelently informative post by pinky on "the picking of lever locks using curtain pick or 2 in 1 pick"

So I take it that my way to fortune is through picking lever locks. hmmm.. better start learning how.

All the answers will be found in the board entitled "Lockpicking 101 - FAQs, and General Information". Go through all the floated posts that have titles pertinent to what you're looking for, and you will learn much.

Still have questions? Use the search button. Or even better, learn to use Google's site searching function, which is much more efficient. Want to learn how to use that feature of Google? Hit the search button and find it, it's good practice. :wink:
