New Guy - Just made my first pick and tension wrench

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

New Guy - Just made my first pick and tension wrench

Hi
New to the forum and new to lock picking. I have done some reading about picking in the past and have always thought it seemed like an interesting hobby(like I really need another hobby). Today I had some free time and I decided to go for it.

The pick handle is made from 1/2" aluminum bar stock that I rounded over and but a flat in one side. It holds pick(s) made from 1/4" drain cleaning rod with a set screw. So far I have just made the one hook. The tension wrench I made from the same drain rod.

Havent had to much success yet, working on a masterlock I had laying around, but I have managed to open it twice so far, but its slow going(lots and lots to learn).

Reason: the [image] command needs .jpg at the end of the path to show images inline, otherwise it will just be a link. I recommend hosting photos on imgur.com

Well I just learned a Master 140 has one or more spool pins. Not really one of the first locks i should have tried, but I have opened it three times so far.
