Picked a Lock For The First Time + Homemade Picks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Picked a Lock For The First Time + Homemade Picks

Made myself a lock pick by taping a bent bobby pin onto a broken file and managed to pick 3 locks with it! I call my pick the BobbyFile.
This was also my first time picking a lock successfully. The locks I picked were some small 40mm brass Master Locks which turned out to be a perfect lock to test my pick on.

Here's a photo of my homemade pick, tension wrench & one of the locks I picked.

If you don't own it, you don't pick it.

Congrats! It's not easy to get a first open, especially with improvised tools :D I love how you've been updating your signature as you pick!

Thanks! I'm hoping to improve my skills so I can pick some padlock cores and rekey them so I can use the locks. I'll continue to use the Master locks for practice and slowly move to larger locks as I get better. Hopefully I remember to update my signature whenever I pick a lock.
