The other day I discovered a material that can be used to make picks, that I don't think anyone has discussed before. The spines out of three ring binders. I'm not sure if anyone has tried making picks from them before, but I've never seen a post about it, so I figured I would post about my attempt. These can be found in cheap three ring binders, if you take them apart there will be two thin (about 1/4 in. across) metal strips with the rings bolted to them. The rings can be removed fairly easily, and besides the metal being a little soft, it's not bad material for pick making. Here are my results (bare in mind, I used a dremel with a cutoff weel for everything, so if it seems a bit rough that is why.)
