Paper clip rake

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Paper clip rake

Postby weldman » 21 Feb 2006 7:23

well I got a little bored and was going to watch some TV but ended up turning a paperclip into a rake and it works really well...I just picked my first lock and opened it in under 5 seconds. :D

Cool, How long did it take you to make and did you just bend it with a pair of pliers?

cant see it breaking - bending maybe at the point you hold it, but it wont break. In fact, has anyone ever broken a rake pick (when using it as a rake, and not when scraping dog shit from the tread in your boots)?

regards

I have, it was the first tool with wich I opened my first lock, I was allways using it and didn't have much experience.

Thanks everyone.

I can't see it breaking as I don't have to use much force on it at all.

I bent it with some really small pliers and I think I'm going to hammer it flat a little.

picks

Postby scampdog » 16 Mar 2006 17:39

thats funny, but this afternoon,i decided to try and make a wallet set(never made one before) as you can see, i made a king and queen, hook, and a diamond, and the bottom one is a tension wrench, i slightly flattened them to allow them to go into a narrow keyway, and i managed to open my 6pin zone front door , with all but the queen, good fun, try it. ps i soldered the joints.
