The Official Locknewbie21 Pickset Thread

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

2 more sets on the catch up going out.

1st is barbarians set.

Second is MitchCappers set, minus the tensioner I forget he did not request one, but finishes off the set.

I am getting everything back into swing here, I hate the flu sets you back a bit...

Take care,

Of course those look beautiful, awesome work LN21.

For the time being, I have stopped making my picks and tools due to relocating my residence, I am now in the Fort Hood area of Texas instead of way East. It's better here, hopefully things will start to pick back up and i'll be back in action once again.

Didn't mean to change the subject or hijack your thread, but this was probably a good as place as any.

Hey Kaotik, not sure if you're familiar with the Killeen/Copperas Cove area, but it's nice, you should be able to find some good locks there to mess with. If you get a chance, stop out at the Belton Lake Outdoor Rec Area (BLORA) Ranch and say hi to my horses.

When you gonna start fabricating picks again? I believe you're one of a few people here whom I haven't had the pleasure of giving money to yet.

OMG!! just got my NB21 picks in and im speachless. They work so good that i cant explain. I almost feel as if i'm cheating! i used it on a lock that normally takes me like at least a minute - 2 minutes. i got it each time in under 20 secs! now granted, i am new, but seriously... i really do feel like i am cheating. LMAO i guess, to me, your picks work better than they look. now thats saying something! thanks man, money well spent - Tim

I picked up my picks today. Hard to describe how nice they are.

The workmanship is superb, and I was very impressed with the feel of the picks.

I should have got two sets. They are almost too nice to use.

what stock

Postby raimundo » 19 Mar 2008 8:33

I wanna know what the metal stock is that he used in the tensioner, it appears thick, but not as wide as wiper stiffener.

BTW, the reason they work so well is that they are slim, rounded, and polished, The sharp edges on the shaft and tip of commercial picks are detrimental to good picking.

Are you taking into account that it comes in different sizes? I currently have two different types of wiper stiffener, one is 2.5mm [0.1"] wide x .35" thick and the other is 3.5 mm [.135"] wide x .35" thick. The tensioner in the midget set definitely looks like the smaller stiffener I have.
