False Sets

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I am in a dorm too, and i have an almost identical lock. (the keyway is a little different) I tried to open it, but i had no luck. I know they have securety pins, and i am pretty sure mine has spool pins, but i am not quite sure.

Also, the keyway makes it a little difficult to manuver the pick well.

good to know I'm not insane

I've been checking ebay for some best cores, no luck yet, if anyone wants to sell on shopping (or if you have a suggested place to buy one...) As for the brinks, I'll study that animation and see if I can't figure it out

thanks for all your help guys, this has been a great learning experience.

animation

That animation shows exactly what I'm feeling

Should I just try to continue to set the other pins and then let the tension off for the false set and go through that way. What should I feel and what should I change to deal with the different type of pins in the brinks lock?

masterlocks

Postby puterxprt » 15 Nov 2005 22:03

Oh, and on a sidenote, I won't buy masterlock again =P I started this a few days ago and can now pick masterlock padlocks in about 20-25 seconds.

As a FreeBSD guy, I gotta say that I love your sig.

If youre looking for BEST SFIC cores, try Main's lock supply at http://www.iccores.com/

I haven't used them yet, but that seems to be most of what they do.
