On the face of it, it sounds plausable.. Water is H2O, or another way is is H and OH. H and OH are called Hydrogen and Hydroxide. This is basis of PH.
Pure water is not "entirely" h20. In Water, *some* H2O will NATURLLY break down into a sigle Hydrogen atom, and a hyroxide molecule.
in PURE water, this dissassociation is 10E-7. This is the PH scale.
that -7 is (usually, it can be for OH) for the H+, and the negative is dropped. So a reading 10E-1, is a PH (for H+) of 1. containing 10e-1 moles od H+, ALOT more than 10E-7. The same holes true for OH+ (hydrooxide)....
As for TUMS, the material is only alkaline in the presence of water. And the chemical process by which it works in your tummy is by combining H+ and OH into water.. You can have all the excess OH you want, it will not be 'turned into water' unless a free H+ is present. Therefore, it will remain in its tablet form and will not dissolve..
Thats why you cant eat alot of tums and NOT burn your stomach because of an over alkaline solution. Only enough 'TUMS' will dessolve to counteract the free H+ in your puke holder...
As for your BODIES PH.... Well, dont listen to alot of what you hear on public broadcasts. The human body is extremely complicated, and if the treatment of difficult diseases was as simple as not eating "Mexican food", then individuals of our species would have, by now, been living for 10,000 years...
BTW, I was requested to pick a lock off a locker that a ex-employee left for 6 months. EVERYONE thought I couldnt do it, and I picked the master #3 in roughly 1 minute. I know its a 'sucky' lock, but lockers are hard to come by in my place of work, and legitimate uses of lock-picking skills are extremely infrequent for me. This was a big "shot in the arm" for my ego. Yay! Happy new year everyone, and
