Micro rakes

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Beautiful.

One interesting potential experiment here would be to see what differences you observe between your conventional "pencil" picks, and ray's pistol-grip Bogotas. Nobody's really isolated the handle shape as a variable yet, but your workmanship looks close enough that you may be able to.

Buzzy, those look great!

Question:
How wide and thick are your rakes? (When I say wide, I mean measuring the handle widtch, not the picking head or shank)

Thanks!

Good question! I almost took the set I photographed and changed them to a pistol grip, with the same thought in mind.

I will build some more and do just that, as time allows, I have been swamped with work lately. I hope I can be truely objective, as I have used the pencil grip for many years now.
The pistol grip took a little getting used to, but I have learned to like it a lot.
I suspect ray's design would have many certain advantages, even for an old dog like me.

Blink

In thousandths of an inch.
Thickness - 25-30
Width - 160-170

I didn't mean this to be a heads up comparison with the Bogata.

I just wanted to share a concept I was fooling around with.
