copper is bad, especially for european locks, because the width you have to get it, it is to weak to use, it just bends instead of 'poking in' a pin

However, for the technique known as "soft entry" both of these materials are excellent choices.

I never heard of this technique, is it some kind of impressioning or simply trying to avoid damage?
