My first attempt is too poor to post. I did not use the correct sand paper to finish, and I did not use hand files at all. i am working on getting some materials to make a set of bogotas right now, and will post those once I have finished them. It does not look like I will be doing any shop work in the near future, as we are moving into our new house. It will be a little time before I can find all of my tools, and have them organized.

Is this the same thing as layout blue? A lot of times we also use it to spray exposed parts when we tear down machinery. It inhibits rust and cleans off with alcohol. I have no clue as to how it reacts to heat.

Layout dye, layout blue, die makers ink, a variety of names.

Haven't tried taking it off with alcohol. The rub on stuff is better than the spray.

Doesn't like a lot of heat, and the can I have is compressed death. You should see the contents label.
