ToolyMcgee's Picks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Here's a couple random pictures. Sorry for the gigantic pictures instead of the links I prefer, but I just got a tooth pulled and I can't get them to work right.

I know the stainless to be a good snake, but although it looks pretty and it opens locks, I don't know many that are keyed this way. Just a trial really, as I don't use rakes often I don't have alot of practice making them. These are the kind I find to be most useful.

I do not doubt this style. They work beautifully. I have lots of these, not so many as extreme and the double, but I thought this to be a good shop photo. I'll try to pair some into color coordinated small sets. Oh, yeah. More rakes. I'll probably post more today.

Schuyler, my reluctance to price quote last night was mostly because of my buzz. Not because I expect top dollar for my first sets.

That means alot coming from you, seriously.

To everyone else... more than 24 hours later and I have to bump my own thread? No one liked the snakes or the deep reach hooks? Probably not fancy enough... Well, here is a set I slapped together for murdering Kwiksets. Image

Guess what color shirt I was wearing? Here's the link to the full view.

I am not thrilled about the way the queen turned out, but the spacing is spot on. These have the longer handles in case you couldn't tell. 4 1\4 inches overall, that's 11 cm to the rest of the world. What to make next...

I havn't made these twists with these handles. The glue might not hold, but I have been using similar one's for months without trouble... one more coat plasti dip for the slim offset diamond. 30 bucks plus whatever it costs me to mail 'em is fair. Don't ya think?

Tooly make sure you don't call them lock picks in the invoice paypal frowns upon that. Call them Locksmithing tools or something along those lines.

Wow man, nice picks!

I'd be looking to buy a set similar to Schuyler's soon, when I have the money.

Really well polished too!

Keep up the excellent work,

I'm not sure if I am being teased... but, even if I am I consider it encouraging coming from a man who has affected Google. Type in Bogota jiggler and/or rake and see if you don't believe. His tutorial convinced me to buy my first set of needle files. So, instead of posting any of the projects I have been working on this weekend I post this old standby set.

I polished the rake up with 1200 again because my coffee jiggle can be quite violent by the time I resort to raking. I regret the light inside hasn't been good enough to photograph my favourite Bogota duo. Only this set, and if the colors aren't enough to clue you in on what this set was made for then this link should help clear it up.
Hint
+2 points to whomever answers correctly.

24 hours and more than 60 views with no comments? Maybe links don't draw the attention that IMG's do. Perhaps my photos were crap. It could be I just don't have enough patience for replies... I have patience, but I also have photos I need to share.

Roxy, these are the rough forms of the picks.

Sorry about the focus problems. I still feel they need another coat of plasti-dip, then the black heatshrink to keep it from peeling. I am pleased with the way they turned out, and felt obligation to post the WIP here. Hope you don't mind.

Archive555, thanks for the encouragement and let me know when you have the cash for a project.
