Earlier you were asking about what locks you should get to practice on. My 2 cents is that you should pick up a decent deadbolt (maybe even a Quikset to start with). As noobs we have a tendency to start picking those good old No. 3 Masterlocks, but they like to just fall open sometimes and make it easy to pick up bad habits from. If you get a deadbolt, for one it'll give you a little more room in the keyway to work with, it'll also give you more feedback when you are SPPing it. No. 3s are a good confidence builder but start with the bar a little higher, you'll thank yourself later. Good luck man.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers.
Sort of... these type are what you are referring to as specifically for double sided chicago locks. There's really nothing about the shape of a full diamond or ball that makes it only suitable for use on a wafer/disc type tumbler. A good ball/diamond pick can even be used successfully in a dimple lock.
