that thing applies measured tension in the one application where it might work, I have an even better idea that applies intermittent variable tension, you need one of those lead wheel balanceing weights, and one of those long rubber bands, curl a ring onto the end of your tensor, and hang the rubberband from it, then put the lead weight on the other end of the rubber band. You could put this in a lock and set the thing to oscillating as the rubberband and the weight interact. As the tension lightens, the bound high pins fall, you could probably also use a rubberband and lead weight to automate the picking and just set them both oscillating and go take a break, come back and find the lock pickedl. genius.
