A forensics idea

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Or how about putting some super glue on the tip of the lock pick so it acts like a small tiny glove over the picks edges of a deforest pick. The flat end and the combined rounded out edges of the super glues glove effect would make leaving marks harder to notice.

Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry can detect it. they can even detect Teflon. Whatever you coat it with needs to sublime or evaporate. maybe decoding and cutting a key.

Heres an idea, find a material that burns with little too no residue or smoke. Then use it to pick the lock. When you are done shoot a pencil torch into the lock so it burns off any residue. The butane in the pencil torch burns cleanly and leaves no trace.

What about micarta, which is layer of fabric impregnated with fiberglass resin. If you did it with cotton it could be mistaken for pocket lint that got on the key. If you did it with nitrocellulose cotton you could burn the evidence with out a trace. When micarta is shaped the fibers stick out not the fiberglass which should mean the only thing left behind are the fibers.
