Making Falle Curve Picks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Take a close look a zekes paracentric keyway, realize that each pin rests in a channel that is essentially a wide un warded spot in the keyway, more than half of the lower part of that keyway is for tensor and pick shaft, but given the wards, I would probably try one of the thick piano wire picks, this is a wire from the bass tone end of the piano, available at music stores, wrapped in copper wire. about .030" diameter, it is very quick to make a pick from one of these, cut a piece about 5" long, file and sand the ends round. curl one end to a finger loop so that what you have looks like a 6 or a 9. put the second finger in theloop, grip the shaft with thumb and forefinger, and at about the 6 or 7 pin length, tip the end into an angle or curve to make a hook. the round shaft will be more useful in the paracentric keyway than any other type of pick. I have made these for keymark paracentrics. they work and are very quick to make, its only cold bending, and fileing and sanding the ends so they don't scratch the lock or the hand.
