are you trying to access the ftp or the http site?
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

james,
the ftp site is now only used for uploading new files for use on the http site. If you have not already done so check out my http site at http://nickz.homeunix.com username lockpicking password 101. It contains everything the old ftp had and some new things.
For future reference if you are having trouble accessing the ftp site using internet explorer try an ftp browser such as filezilla or smartftp. They work much better. Even better yet the old standby command prompt if you put some research into how to use it to access ftp sites .
If you have any problems accessing the http site just drop me a pm.

I found this thread while searching for templates. It goes back many months, and the password info & website mentioned has gone thru several changes. Someone please send me to the current location of this info...
Many Thanks,
Chance

Okay, thanks for helping strighten that out. But the username/password it buried somewhere among several dozen messages -- can someone provide it, or must I re-read the entire thread?

Thanks for pointing the way! No, really I mean that. It's my bad that I read the message and then forgot how close it was to my original post.
That doesn't excuse your methodology, however, sir Shrub. Rude is rude, regardless. Your 1200 posts against my 5 is meaningless in the real world. So you got here before me -- so what? You a better person than me? Think about it...
Chance
ps: Roast away if you truly feel the need. I'm flameproof. Something to do with being a confident, mature adult human being. Maybe you'll get there one day yourself.

"Sir Shrub" actualy replied accordingly, albeit somewhat crudely.
You posted the first question which was valid, and I replied nicely, telling you that the website had moved, and where you could find it, also the password and username were the same as before. After you posted the second message though you were asking for it.
You could have easily found the answer by merely searching, and IT WAS ON THE SAME PAGE
There is no further need to flame, as it may be a genuine mistake, and you were being honest about having read the thread, but perhaps missed it.
The last message was a cop-out because although you may be impervious to flames, other people will care, and since this thread is a very usefull one, it would be stupid to get it locked. If you were as considerate as you claim this should have been apparent. Be mature, and just ignore anything you consider an insult... this deserves to be sorted out 1-to-1 rather than in the public section
Consider this next time please.

First of all, I want to say a big thanks to Zeke for his very friendly and informative PM just now.
Secondly, I just want to say that no regular member here should expect a newbie to act any better than themselves; as regulars you set the tone here, not us. To have it any other way means that you somehow expect newbies to be all prim and proper while the regs take advantage. Doesn't happen in the real world, so why anywhere else.
For a small example, you want me to reply in PM form to the bad behavior shown me here, while your long letter to me is made publicly.
I enjoy this forum, I have much the same interests any the rest of you here -- maybe even more in fact. After all, my life and personal safety is literally on the line regarding my knowledge with locks and restraints, and I doubt many others here can say that.
I am here to support this craft in any way that I can reasonably do so. And life is too important to waste itr by going around trying to incite flame wars and make enemies, even anonymous ones. But don't put that stuff on me, that I somehow bring out the worst in someone after just one posting such as it was. And if any thread gets locked down it will be because the regulars here set a particular tone, not any newbie.
And finally, I would have been happy to make even this letter a PM if you had made yours that way. See? You set the tone, not I.
Thanks again to Zeke! Great website over there!

Okay... I will admit that I should have made the message by PM, and that yes it was negative.
I'm sorry I lept down your throat, and yes we all deserve equal respect.
apology accepted?
