The Official Locknewbie21 Pickset Thread

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I was wondering, though... why do you put the little rounded hole bit thing (english failing me) in the hook pick, just after the handle finishes? for looks or functionality? is it somewhere to put a finger?

It's something I started to incorporate into the tangs awhile ago. The cut out is a relief so flex can be adjusted without sacrificing the tangs width of itegrity.

So say you have a kwickset that is new, and one that is used for a while, you can use diffrent degree's of flex points to match the lock.. and you do need to sacrfice width which is never a problem with proper finishing.. but in comercial crap look out  .

hope that helps

Your picks are astounding although I think in the twist ties in Toolys tension wrenches he got you there. PA! I got friends who grow mushrooms commercially up there.

man its been a long time since ive been on, i see your picks are sexy as ever. I think your craftsmanship has been improving because the lines and general quality looked like it went from great to professional (from the shine of the picks to the shape and consistency)

I call this set the "V.2 Ferrari Set", becuase I just think that Ferrari yellow is sexy.

Description:
This set is hands down a skilled manipulator's set, and would only compliment that very person. There are no rake's sorry, raking is like wanking off and unreliable. Individual pin manipulation will NEVER fail you if your good enough to master it.

My roots are making Killer hooks, and thats what this is. Each hook's curve compliments what type of pin config. or MACS your dealing with.

The Handels have a knife grip which flows into the tang, that meets with my signature "tang reliefs".

I never reviewed my pick set that I got and I am glad I waited. At first I was a little disappointed when I got them because from all the pics I was expecting... more. Like a black velvet case and a jewlers box or something, but they are just picks. I tried them out and all in all they were ok but to be fair I was in a bit of a funk.

Anyway, fast forward a few months and I absolutely love them!!! I got used to the smoothness of them and the extra feel I get from them and I have been slaughtering locks. I have been busy and not coming on here at all but everytime I open a lock this site pops into mind. So today I reached for my overfilled quad fold pick case with the broken zipper and 30-40 picks in it and pulled out 2 LN21 picks and a wrench like I have on the last 20 lockouts and picked the door open in a flash and thought to myself that I had to stop by and say thanks. I still don't like the twisted handled rake because it just feels weird but the rest of the set is like gold!! Thanks man!! I am thinking of downgrading the case I carry to a starter case that can fit 3 LN21 picks and a wrench.
