can someone please tell me what is with home brew picks, i mean, i think it is waaaay too much work to make homemade picks, i would rather spend the 20-40 dollars and have a good set.
Sorry to bash but thats about the most nebie thing i have ever heard. Hes the answere, not only is it rewarding to be able ot make a pick that out works any manual lock pick on the market, but when you get good you can make them on the fly, when you by a comercail pick your limited to the design size price, when you make your own your the boss so to speak. Not to mention the finish on ever comercial pick is good enough to scrap layers of my finernail off, so even if you buy comercial ones to be effficiant the need to be filed dry sanded, then wet sanded, then polished.
My SO set took me 3 hours to finish to where they can be called picks, Haha Me and my buddies are into the car thing as well, and you will get the same amount of disrespect if you just go out spend 50,000$ on a car where all the works done.. well it comes fast, rather than built one up yourself, its lazy and doesn;t do the trick.
Keep practicing and if oyu think homemades are a waste of time... well ask ray what he thinks regarding his homemade bogata's
