Lock Pick Competition

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Okay, here is the pick handle I fabricated. I originally made it with a hook, but didn't take pictures of the hook tip, instead I made a different working tip that I'd like to call "The Spade".

It is basically the shape of a spade from a playing card and, works for double-sided wafer locks very well because of the size. The hook tip not pictured gives suprisingly good feedback throughout the handle, less material for vibrations to pass through makes this possible IMO.

arris,

Thanks, I made it from a piece of .064 aluminum for the handle and stainless for the tip/working end.

dmux,

That's next on my list. Since they are interchangable I am planning to make a full set but, because of the size they are only a couple out of the set of four that can be used for picking. As I mentioned this one works good for double-sided wafer locks (less restricting keyway) but, are a little to big for the basic pin tumbler.

When I finish the whole set I'll post them. I think they will be a cool collection. :)
