Wire EDM project

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

This thread just got me to thinking. I should join one of those handyman club places. One of those places that have all sorts of machines from carpentry to cnc machines. , my creative gears are spinning. Also, from all of the pictures, beautiful work.

Those places are also known in some areas as hackerspaces. They can be really fun, and you meet the most interesting people there.

Yeah, dude. It's sweet being able to make something you've always wanted to have. Also, once you get a machine and the needed parts, you can make a lot of stuff for relatively cheap, QUICKLY (well, the operation may not take too long but the setup can take weeks :(! When you get good, though, it only takes a few hours to finish a project once you've started.) Of course there is a learning curve with G-Code. Sorry isn't going to fix a crashed lathe! If anyone is interested in pursuing something like this and needs help with the coding, modeling, etc. please let me know, I learn a lot from helping people with projects! Also, it is one of the few ways I can help others in the community with me being so far away.

It is more than a fun project, Fox. The thumb plane is a work of art that a master woodworker would be proud to use. Kudos.
