Has anyone heard of the King and Queen Pick

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

If you have a vice, and an angle grinder that locks ON, you have a bench grinder.

Just make darn sure it's secure. PLEASE? I don't want a running angle grinder falling on anyones foot.

The buty part of an angle grinder is that most of the discs for the angle grinder are thiner, and you can get more precise cuts with that.

Just be careful if you try that. If you do get a new bench grinder, also get a cut-off disc with the proper adapter. Between the disc and the wheel, you can do some things you might not have tried otherwise.

So in what way do these royal picks differ from all the usual rake style picks out there?

Start at the beginning of the thread.

Somewhere in there I specified what they are meant for. That they work as good rakes is a side effect. That isn't what they were designed to do.

Sorry about that -- my oversight.

So they are in fact quite literally lifter picks. I had some success that way with the W-rake, or Jag. Using a sort of rocking motion, humming a lullaby, the picks set and went to sleep.

Now, that was funny.

Yep, they are in fact designed as a type of lifter pick. Originally the design was intended for use on Yale locks, but varrying the pin spacings gets picks for other lock types.

I know I was the one who said you could do this, and you CAN. Just, for the love of God be careful. If that things comes down while it's running, you could get hit and cut, or it could shatter the disc, and send pieces flying.

Make sure you have your goggles on at ALL times when it is running.

I think I'd prefer to spend a couple of hours with a file than stick an angle grinder in a vice!
Oh look! it's 2016!
