Hello there. I am new to lockpicking, and I want to ask you some questions. I am sorry if these sound stupid, but I guess we all have to start somewhere ... I've read all the material on the net, the MIT guide, the SECRETS OT LOCKPICKING and still I cannot do it right ...
My first question is about the tension wrench - does it have to be long enough to reach the bottom of the plug? I tried to turn it with small screwdriver, and the tmblers just won't break (talking tumbler locks here). Could the problem be that the locks here are all upside-down (tumblers down), or I am just doing it wrong ?
My next question is - all manuals say the pins should be picked bottom to front - why? I mean, isn't it obviously easier to pickthem fron to back ?
And my last questions is about the lockpicking tools - is there any special equipment (lathe) to make them? I read in your forum that someone make his tools from a saw blade - isn't it too soft and "springy" ? I am now trying to make my tools from hard rive mounts, which seem to be enouth thin and hard?
Any suggestions should be welcome, thanks to everybody
