southord 7/8 pin picks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Ace ll are high security locks, don't think your are going to open it with that pick, what are you trying open legally have this lock on it? do you own said lock?

You need to really set the tension high on the feelers.

ACE II are a real iffy with that pick. I would guess offhand about 30-40%

Yes, tighten the feelers up tight, put in the lock, press in, then rotate a bit from side to side and the feelers should set

The other way is to have the feelers slack and tension the lock, slowly push each feeler in until you feel the shear line, do that on each one and you should get it to turn, remove the tool and tighten the feelers up.

I dont think the ace series can be called high security,

It's true that the ACE IIs have some features designed, IIRC, specifically to frustrate normal tubular picks. Differing spring tensions, for one thing.

So my pick should do it then, and what about spool drivers, are there ever those in a tube lock?

Yes there are spool drivers in tubular locks. For the best luck using the style of pick you are using keep in mind that you are not actually "picking" the lock. You are using the tool more along the lines of impressioning the lock. Keep that in mind when using that style of tool.

Another quick tip is once you get the lock picked only turn a few degrees so the bottom pins are resting in between chambers, remove the tool and push the feelers all the way up and then press them back in on a flat surface. At that point simply reinsert the pick carefully holding between the pin stacks and the feelers will then be pushed to the exact sheerline since the coded pins are sitting between chambers. Hope that makes sense, it is getting late :) .
