Different picks (With Poll)

Hey

I currentely own a very basic pick set. I was thinking of expanding this, and I was wondering what kinds of lockpicks everyone here finds useful. Some that I'm thinking of making are diamonds, snakes, kings and queens, balls, snowmen, half ball and half snowman, and hooks.

Anyone have any good or bad feedback about these picks?

Any recommendations about them?

If anyone has any other picks that they find useful, and that I haven't listed, would you please list those too!!

I think I have seen a thread similar to this before - but no matter it should be cool to see what the newer members think.

I chose hooks, this being because I find them very versatile, and with the right amount of skill very effective.

I have yet to see a poll regarding whether people prefer twist-flex, or straight tension wrenches - that might be a good idea

Rake since its the most time saveing.

Hook... I find this the overall best unless for wafer locks.

Diamond... not bad, but generaly not as verstile as hooks

Computer Generated... Usefull for 'opening' locks, but not really picking from a purist side. You put them in, wiggle, and bounce tension....

Ball... Very usefull for wafer locks... but the only useful function IMO...

Snake or Rake... when sanded and very smooth, they are useful.

Snowball... "snowman" or double-ball I think you mean - These are useful for raking wafer locks, but I find the single ball adequate.

Personaly I'd knock up a load of hook picks of varying steepness - not exactly exciting but useful

The hook would have to bee the most succesful pick cuase Pin picking works on all locks. Raking doesnt But raking can come in handy for a go at a lock that you cannot get open with pin picking.

My fav would definitely be the hook. All the others are pretty good but the hook can pick almost any pin tumbler.

I suppose as far as general pick shapes go, I like hooks. But, to say that I like "the hook" is like saying my favorite vehicle is a car.

I often have an affinity for Falle-Safe Progressive Curve #3 or #4.

I am such a newb, I have no idea what a snowball lock pick is. I did a google search and didn't find anything. Hmm, maybe I didn't find anything with the google search because it's some high security pick that people don't know about. Wait... I didn’t find anything at all on this pick. Maybe it's a pick so good that people don't want to talk about it. It's probably sooo high tech that putting out information about it could get you in trouble. Wait whoa, this is bad. MODS, delete this topic before people can read it. Before it spreads all over the internet! Wait thieves have probably already read this!!! THEY HAVE FOUND OUT A SUPER PICK EXISTS! WE HAVE TO WARN THE CAI BEFORE CRIMINALS START USEING THIS TOOL ON LOCKS ALL OVER THE WORLD!! It will create crime EVERYWHERE!!! AND IT WILL BE OUR FUALT! it's a double ball pick. has one ball, then next to it another..

Oh wait maybe your just talking about the snowman pick. I can see why you might have said snowball. Probally got ball and snowman mixed up. Whew crisis avoided. Unless... you are talking about a snowball pick. In that case I will probally be shot in the head by some secret agent.

Yeah Illusion I know what a snowman pick is I have one. I just didn't know what a snowball pick was...

I know mate... the snowball pick is a super-high security lockpick.. government issue only... so I couldn't explain fully
