My New Picks as Promised

I suck at taking picture (say this everytime) They all have a mirror finish but with my camera skills they probobly look like they came out a cement mixer.

Each has its own use and function and they own many locks

Alright first pic is one i just made (my best) Tang thickness was .19, now its more 16.5 after sanding and polishing. And two serrated verticle tensioners.



Next is the whole lot. I was going to buy/sell thread these but figured i would let everyone have a look.



The bottom one's reserved for skyler, and the second from the top is Zekes piece i have to ship out. Enjoy and again excuse my shardy pic taking skills.

I use Heat shrink, but i heat the ends and press the round with my finger (whilst burning myself )

All the thickness's ar inbetween .15-.20, the very thin ones are a bit thicker, but you can get around that but filing them round, sanding and polishing.

what are you using for stock?

Handels are electrical snake (the stuff to thick to even work with, but makes a sturdy handel)

The picks range form feeler gauge stock, to wiper blades depending on design, thickness, lock, ect.

how are you attaching the pick to the handles? sounds like a guide post maybe?

i've been making all my picks out of sweeper bristles and the only thing that sucks is holding them do to size.

a guide to attach handles to smaller stock would be nice, i would do it but i don't have access to a welder or rivets.

anyone have suggestions to add handles with out loosing alot of feed back?

The top on i used superglue, if you go heavily on it and use a wire wheel to smooth it out its as steady as a rock.

The thicker ones are embeded in super glue, i love those thought hey take longer the glue transferes feeback, if you add a finger grip right to the tang, it improves alot.

And for time when you need you finger on the tang i put elbows to rest my finger on, they make it flex more to when yo set a pin it give a nice kick,

well, as for taking better pics, there is a stickied thread on this in i think general info ( the first thread).

personally, i have found that turning flash OFF is good. then get a light source, and then, make it so the light source is putting light on the object, but not directly at it.

i have white paint on my walls and ceiling, so pointing the light UP works well for me depending on what angle i go at, etc.

what you have to do, is play with things. just take a bunch of pics of the same thing with different lighting and take note of how you did what, and eventually you will discover what works decently.

An update: Zeke's Pick has been mailed, and he is also recieving the double sided pick second from the bottom so i donnot get kicked out for being slow .


And skyler claimed his as well (all the way to the bottom. )
