Width of a standard tension wrench?

Hi i was wondering what is the width of a standard tension wrench?

mine is 3.15mm X 1.00mm thick

An 1/8" would be a safe measurement, most street sweeper bristles are an 1/8" and many members here have good results using them as tension wrenches and picks.

You will also find that both sizes of windshield wiper inserts are not 1/8", one is thinner the other is wider...though the thinner one is good for really small locks and good for use at the top of the cylinder near the key pins.

The ones I have range from .017" from majestic to 0.40" for my peterson IC lock wrench.

SO Standard twisted. seem to work fine.

I used a barbeque fork as tension tool. Simply broke off 1 of the 2 dents and bend the tip in 90 degree... works so perfectly!

Snap a bobby-pin in half and insert one end into a lock and bend.....
every once in a while it will slip and rotate though
Works on most locks except the Brinks R70... not strong enough
