this is my first homade pick
any suggestions sorry the qualitys crap had to use my webcam

Well, I'm not sure how much my opinion is worth because I'm just as new as you, but from what I can see, I would try sanding/polishing the business end a bit more. From the reflection on the pick-end of the tool, it seems that it's not quite as smooth as you might want. As others on this board have said, and as I've found to be true myself, the smoother and more polished the pick, the easier it will move in the lock and the more feedback you will receive.

Just my $0.02

Good job on it though, I need to start making some from hacksaw blades myself. I received some street-cleaner bristles from Spossum a few days back and I need to get on those making some more bogotas; too many locks to pick and too many picks to make... never enough time

Hey ive gotta say that a nice job uve done there. But your the one with your hands on it, how do you find it?

also its not sanded yet just got the paint removed

no tension wrench? just grind down the other half of that hacksaw blade and bend it over. it will do till u get a better one.

Hint suggestion advice err... whatever
Might save u some time if u use the back side of the blade...flat part
and leave it AS IS und just cut the concave side of the pick....
guaranteed to be straight and smooth... less work, faster manufacture time.

Halo, you need a tension wrench, its easy to obtain, just get one wiper blade of a vehicle, and inbetween blades are long thin strips of metal. They are perfect for tension wrenches.

All you have to really do is bend. Pick making is much harder then tension wrenches and youve already done the hard part.
