I would strongly suggest making bogota and sabana picks. Follow raimundo's guidelines. Oh, and very carefully inspect your stock before you start. No point in attempting to make a good tool out of bad metal. However, I've found that even bad bristles can made rather acceptable "standard" tension tools. Bogota picks are wonderful instruments, but don't neglect making a half diamond pick and a sabana pick according to raimundos plans. You will not be dissapointed. Take alot of time in the sanding and finishing of your tools. It will be more than worth it.
