Hey i was wondering if anyone lived in Vancouver, BC, and has ordered from www.lockpickshop.com. If so can you tell me approximately how long it took to get to you, and if there were any problems (ie. stopped at border and taken away etc.) Thanks, i was just wondering about my purchase and if it will make it to me or not.
Cheers.

have you recieved a confirmation email that the parcel has been sent? Also note that their website indicates it's shipping policies states:
Most orders are shipped within 2 business days of receipt of payment. Please allow up to 14 days for delivery.
Also remain aware that owning picks in BC requires a licence and therefore CBSA may take special note of your package because of this.

i bought my picks off amazon(lock pick shop was selling them) a couple of months ago. i recieved them in a week. however i thought it kinda weird that they would sell to a 16 year old kid:S i had amazon take the money directly from my bank acount, they did no questions asked. i honestly find it to be a bad buissiness practice

No, i did not receive a email that the parcel has been sent because my friend is ordering it for me. I have to ask him later about that.
I realize that it takes up to 14 days for delivery, i just wanted to know if anyone in Vancouver has ordered from them and everything went smoothly with no problems, like being confiscated at the border or what not.
Yes, I am aware that I require a license in BC to own picks. But i was told that if i keep them in the house and only pick locks that people own and that have given me permission to pick, then i can pick them.
So again, does anyone that lives in BC in general have ordered picks from www.lockpickshop.com and has gotten it smoothly please post here.
Thanks.

I have chatted to the guys there and apparently they sometimes have trouble processing credit card orders from Canada, for reasons that i have no idea. give them an email with your order number and let us know whats going on.

well im not unhappy about it. im just saying shouldnt the process be a little more in depth for ordering picks. whats to stop a 15 or 16 year old dilequent from buying car entry tools and going on a joy ride.

whats to stop him putting a brick through the window and hot wiring it?
UR average joy rider wouldn't care either way so why spend the cash at all?

It may be that the gist of Jack's point (& correct me if I'm wrong here) is that the OBJECT is not responsible for it's usage. This has been the scape-goat and the "vote-getting device" of many a politician. The drug or chemical does not jump off the table and become a bomb or make a person an addict. The gun or hammer or knife does not jump up and do harm. The person who uses the tool makes the decision to do whatever they choose. The OBJECT is merely an inanimate thing. albeit a symbol (& on occasion a powerful one).
Personal responsibility is something that has become a lost agenda in modern times it seems. The laws passed in Parliaments and Congresses around the world may make us feel safer but they do little to sway the thinking and actions of those who have little social conscience or care for the community at large. These things are objects; they have no mind or soul. The moment we think that by passing laws we can affect morality we are deluding ourselves. Morality will never be legislated: however often it has been attempted.
That being said, the very nature of some things (objects) appears to some people to be made for one purpose alone. Some will say that lock picks are made for by-passing a secured element (house, car, etc) & that by their very nature they are designed for doing harm. Some will say that firearms are designed for killing by their very design and on and on it goes. But it's clear to many that intellectual honesty demands that objects per se' are not at the core of misbehaviour.
But they are powerful symbols of certain actions. Astute politicians know that addressing condemnation at objects is politically safe. Demanding that people be responsible for their actions is not a politically safe move by any means. Where as objects can't vote; people can. People can also develop a misinterpretation for responsibility as blame.

Having car entry tools don't help if you don't know how to use them. Unless you want to buy them to break a window.

Lol, im pretty new also. Well, recently sent an email to them about the order (2, 14 piece Southord pick sets with grips. about $70) and so far no response from them (items ordered May 22). So.....what to do what to do..... Any suggestions.
Btw, bawlls do you have any pictures of some homebrews you've made?

H3A7: you can always try emailing them again or calling if they have a number, but I wouldn't worry about it too much just yet; it was Memorial Day this past weekend in the US, and the postal system always seems a bit hairy around holidays (not to mention the chance of workers taking longer breaks / taking longer to fill orders, etc).
I'm not sure which postal carrier they would use to ship to Canada, or on which days it would operate, but assuming they shipped your order by the 24th, it's really only been 5 or 6 business days since then, no? I say relax for now
