what are these?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

im guessing some sort of variable tension wrench?

almost looks like a decoder... doubt it's a tension wrench, would be very odd to use if it was as it would cover the keyway.

they are over lifting picks for lever locks without barrel and curtain but they will not work on bs locks over here the barrel and curtain stop it :D

:oops: having a closer look the size of them meaning the lengh suggests to me they may be for safes or locks well in side thick doors.

These tools are also variously known as Hobb's picks or 2 in 1 picks. There has been some recent discussion on yahoo locksports about them.

Here is what I got from the whole thing

1.) You need esentially one pick/model/make of lock
2.) Very Very expensive

why the big handle? you'd expect that on a plug puller etc.

lever locks in my small experince of them need more torque so longer handles the shafts are long so you get to locks mounted on the inside of thick doors or safe's
the pick just above has two long handles so you can apply torque on either :)
