Where can i get some lockpick templates?

Ok I've gotten that video and I am very keen to start but I want some templates because we don't have a grinder and I'm going to cut the bits out of a hacksaw blade and hten file it. I know this will be slow but I don't mind

Also where can I find something to help me pick padlocks. I've found some templates on another post. (Opps I should have searched before posting) Would these picks be good for a padlock? Good that you searched. Here's your next assignment. Google for the mit guide to lockpicking, and read it. If you don't know why you need a tension wrench, you clearly haven't read it yet.

depending on size of padlock, i cant help you in your answer. If its a med-large padlock, then they would be ok, luggage padlocks it wouldn't work (too big) Those picks are a great size, they will work on almost all locks (doorknobs, deadbolts etc.) so i would go with that template. Its a great start (has fundamental picks.)

Follow CitySpider's advice though, if you dont know what a tension wrench does, your not going to go far. Get the MIT guide, read it 4 times, then go to http://home.howstuffworks.com/lock-picking.htm Its the best place to go after you know the mechanics of a lock (in MIT) it has animation things that really help.

reach in your pocket and pull out your keys, the longest one from tip to shoulder is the correct length, but you can add a quarter inch. Look for the deepest cut from the top of the blank to the bottom of the cut, this is as deep as you will ever want to make any hook or halfdiamond, it is not the template, to accomodate the highest and lowest depths, you use the motion of the pick. the tips of the picks should be like the middle cuts. any pick that is full depth, leaves no room for movement. cut your picks and use black metal cutting sandpaper wrapped around a small stick to sand the rough surfaces and and round out the edges so that you do not have sharp edges to interact with the ward cuts in the keyway.
